Wonderful Outdoor World Colorado

Our Mission:

                  Wonderful Outdoor World Colorado provides youth with a safe and supportive environment in which they might develop in increased sense of ones self and their place within the natural world, a passion for lifelong learning, and a commitment to environmental stewardship and healthy lifestyles.  We recognize these attributes as essential qualities of active and healthy youth and leaders of tomorrow.  WOW Colorado 's programming seeks to educate, engage and ensure that the natural world is accessible to all and that no child is left inside.

                The purpose of WOW is to introduce urban youth to the fun and wonders of outdoor recreation and to teach the importance of protecting the environment through a safe and controlled camping experience. In 2007, we served over 600 youth!  Campers learned the value of understanding and respecting urban and wildland ecosystems, as well as:
 

• Enhanced community values
• Respect for the outdoor world
• Teamwork                                                                           
• Outdoor skills
• Curiosity about and the desire to work and do more outdoors 
• Recognition of how fun the outdoors can be

  We are very proud of all that we have been able to acheieve through talented individuals, comitted partnerships and generous funding.  As we look forward to the future of WOW we are excited by the potential WOW has to serve so many more youth in the Denver-Metro area.  We look forward to the continued growth of this program and many more summers full of curious campers!
